Big Changes for the 2017 Ford Escape
The 2016 Ford Escape brought with it some minor changes, including replacing MyFord touch with the new Sync 3 system, but it looks like much bigger changes will be on the way for the 2017 edition of this venerable crossover. All of us at Wetzel Ford in Richmond, IN are looking forward to offering the 2017 Escape — but what can you expect when it finally arrives?
What Will the 2017 Ford Escape Look Like?
Autoblog recently reported on some spy shots of the 2017 Escape, and they’re intriguing to say the least. Some of the conclusions that Autoblog draws from the pictures are:
- The 2017 Escape’s front end will resemble that of the Edge. The styling of the grille appears to be primarily hexagonal, with horizontal slats and a small intake that’s seated lower than that of the 2016 model.
- The headlights have narrowed from last year’s model, featuring sharper points while still wrapping around the fender.
- While the model was photographed was heavily camouflaged, Autoblog posts that the vehicle’s rear will feature tail lights that have been subtly tweaked to maintain the shape of last year’s tail lights while adding a clear stripe in the center.
- It’s also suspected that the center stack will be completely different from that of the 2016 Escape. The gearshift will also be moved down between the seats, providing more space for radio and HVAC controls.
